Washington Memorial Heritage

The Soul Of Valley Forge

Our Mission

Washington Memorial Heritage is a secular 501(c)(3) that works to preserve the history and heroes, architecture and art of Washington Memorial at Valley Forge. Our mission is to ensure that Washington Memorial will be here for generations to come.

Despite its location within a national park, Washington Memorial at Valley Forge receives no federal funding. We survive solely on private donations from individuals, foundations, and organizations.

Our country’s 250th anniversary is a time for us to remember that we are heirs to a wonderful heritage – the great gift of freedom and self-government bequeathed to us by the Founding generation, who sacrificed so much for our benefit.

Our Work

Thanks to a generous bequest by a donor, Washington Memorial Heritage was able to fund the rehabilitation of Patriot’s Hall.

What was once a staid meeting room has been transformed into a a ballroom filled with historic glamour, perfect for weddings and special events.

Current Restoration Project:

Cloister Of The Colonies

Each of the Cloister’s thirteen bays is dedicated to one of the original Thirteen Colonies. Beginning in 1905, the citizens of each of the thirteen represented states contributed the funds for the construction of each state’s bay. Unfortunately, the Cloister is showing its age. The copper roof has reached the end of its life, and stormwater has eroded and cracked the steps and stone pavements. Washington Memorial Heritage is raising funds for the restoration of the Cloister of the Colonies.
